Thank you for visiting Yarnfish Crochet. My name is Tammy Kunz and I have been crocheting for over 40 years, having been taught the craft by my Grandma when I was a young girl. I really enjoyed the smiles from the results of what I was able to make and over the years creating scarves and hats and baby blankets galore was what I did. After my move to New London, I started becoming well known for my work throughout the area as I worked project after project on the bleacher in the gym, at soccer games, the baseball park and just about any where I was, you would find me with my bag of projects. Soon the baby blanket and prayer blanket requests were pouring in.
Over the years I have made blankets large and small, the largest an 86″ x 84″ special order for a friend that took over a year to make. Most of the reason for the time was the need to hand make the chart for the custom blanket, the customers company logo. Well it came out in amazing fashion, drawing tears from the gentleman and accolades as to it’s beauty and stitch quality throughout the blanket, something he proudly displays on his bed and cherishes.
I started getting questions about how to make a custom blanket. My answer was that it is basically single crochet done to a stitch by stitch, color by color chart I hand make myself from every graphic or idea, and that is how I did it for years. Some friends tried but the process became overwhelming, including myself on large projects. That was until my husband bailed me out on the above mentioned blanket and created a workflow that we are able to do with the use of a couple of computer programs to produce those patterns in hours, not days, weeks or months. Yes, have an idea, character, favorite animal, theme or even photograph and we can most likely turn it in to a usable custom crochet pattern to your specifications.
